Hi Yeti Families -
We are excited to share the “Find your Track” educational pathways for our VSSA students. Vail Ski and Snowboard Academy is founded on its partnership with Ski and Snowboard Club Vail and Eagle County Schools to support the needs of our talented student athletes.
VSSA has always worked within the parameters of our public school funding to support students in both in-person and online courses. We are formalizing this process to support all of our students including those who spend more time on the slopes than in the classroom. At our core, VSSA is a brick and mortar school, designed to provide a free public education for all students. VSSA provides opportunities for all student athletes to reach their full potential with our incredible sports partners; SSCV, VSSA Hockey, Avon Swim, Vail Gymnastics, and Power on Ice Figure Skating. We see the value of our Yeti community, of being together at our little school in the woods, and we know some schedules necessitate more flexibility.
With the Find your Track program, students whose travel schedule qualifies them will be able to take VSSA online courses through EdgeX starting Fall 2026. All courses that are a part of a student's full time course load through EdgeX are free, a part of our wonderful Eagle County School District curriculum. Supplemental courses will still be available for a fee when a student is interested in taking an alternative course such as foreign language that VSSA does not offer.
We will work with all of our students this spring to create a high school academic plan that works best alongside their athletic goals. Select online summer course options will be available this summer for students wishing to lighten their load in high travel times.
Students traveling at the highest level, or students that have made the national team can apply to participate in hybrid or online programs. For now, please complete the interest form if you think this may be an option for your student.
