 Back to School Night -Thursday, August 28, 2025  4:00- 5:30pm

Parents will have the opportunity to follow their student's schedule starting at 4:00. Teachers will share general info about their class and parents can ask questions during each 10 minute rotation. Parents can also check in with our counselors, gifted and talented teacher, and administration. Ice cream will be served after the rotations for some socialization!

We are leveling up our traditional continuation ceremony to be a passage celebration and ceremony. 8th grade students create a presentation about themselves to be shared with the VSSA and parent community gallery walk style in May. The purpose of the passage project is to showcase their growth through middle school and aspirations and goals moving into high school.  Students will create a physical presentation, a poster (to display their growth and goals in academics, character, college and career and sport. On May 28th students will present their projects in a open house style at VSSA followed by a passage ceremony  of the 8th grade class.

Coffee with The Principal is the time for parents to hear about instructional programs, gain instructional data knowledge, learn strategies to assist their children, ask questions and/or share concerns that will positively impact student academic achievement.

Field Day is an exciting outdoor event held on the last day (8:30-12:00) of school. Field day gives kids the chance to celebrate the school year coming to an end, show some class pride and spend a day being active.

Required Graduation Rehearsal:  2:00pm @ 4 Eagle Ranch in Wolcott (4098 CO-131) · ALL Seniors are REQUIRED to attend this MANDATORY rehearsal.

Graduation Ceremony:  9:30 am Friday, May 15 @ 4 Eagle Ranch in Wolcott. ALL graduates need to report by 8:30am at the 4 Eagle Ranch for group class photos. 

Graduation Caps & Gowns: You can’t graduate without the proper attire! Students WILL BE allowed to adorn their caps with personalized items that are to be two dimensional. Please be considerate and don’t make the cap decoration a distraction (nothing lewd or vulgar) to the ceremony.

Dress Etiquette: Graduation Ceremony it is expected that students dress appropriately for these time honored and significant community events. “Business casual” (Girls in white dresses / Boys in shirt and tie) would be the minimum expectation for student attire.

Graduating  senior class composites are hung in our front entryway each year so alumni and others can always come back and view them.  The pictures start from 2010 and continue on by class until the current year.

A parent-teacher conference is a great opportunity to:

• share academic progress and growth based on classroom observations, testing data, assessments, portfolios, and assignments
• learn from parents or guardians so you can be better informed about students' strengths, needs, behaviors, and learning styles
• discuss enrichment or intervention strategies to support students' learning
• discuss issues that may be interfering with students' learning and growth

Lower School Show Case of Learning

VSSA is hosting a Lower School Showcase on 11/17/25 from 3:15-3:40. Parents are welcome to come see what the students have been up to in their WIN Enrichment class. Student work will be set up in the foyer, cafeteria and outside the gym.

This is a great time to celebrate the awesome academics that have been happening around VSSA.
