OUR MISSION

Located in Minturn, Vail Ski & Snowboard Academy (VSSA) is the country’s first public ski and snowboard academy, which allows serious athletes the opportunity to balance world-class training and competition while developing independent learning skills essential for future collegiate and Olympic athletes. Students of VSSA must be full-time athletes with one of VSSA’s partner organizations and complete an evaluation of the student’s athletic and academic background. In addition to having Olympic athletes, VSSA's SAT scores were ranked 7th in the state of Colorado in 2018.

Enrollment for Vail Ski & Snowboard Academy is not based on the boundary maps. Enrollment is done through an application and selection process.
